We have a number of small groups we call Cells. They are established for fellowship, friendship and fun but most importantly these groups are vehicles of evangelism and church growth.
A Cell meeting consists of four sections:
Welcome
This is usually an ice-breaker or activity that you do as a group. It aims to help people relax and get to know each other right at the start. This section is usually very informal and good fun. A typical example of a welcome question might be; “If you could have lunch with anyone you wanted, who would that be and why?”
Worship
After relaxing together during the Welcome, this section helps you to focus on Jesus and invite the presence of God to move in the meeting. Very often a cell member will put on a worship CD or read a piece of the Bible and during this time the group may be invited to give thanks or comment on an aspect of God’s character that stands out to them.ligula, eget lacinia
Word
This is an important point in the cell meeting where the aim is to be honest enough about ourselves and open to the correction and guidance of God’s word. Each week the person taking the Word will give a brief re-cap of the teaching given during the Sunday service asking the group questions that are geared to help us square up to the challenge of living out God’s Word in our daily lives. Our value of a “Community of committed relationships” is aimed at helping each other become more like Jesus, but at the same time be honest about ourselves.
Witness
Your cell group members are there to pray with you for your non-Christian friends and family and help you to reach them for Jesus through “cringe free” social events, where the opportunity for relationships can be built, developed and the love of God can be seen through your group. Part of the cell meeting is given to planning these events: it means you have help and support as you seek to be a witness at work or home. “Being a worker in the harvest.” Matthew 9:38
Eternity
It is my desire and vision that everyone who considers our church as their spiritual home will be part of a cell group. Do please contact me directly to find out your nearest cell group. There are groups for everyone, regardless of age or geography.
